I just realised the Dacia Logan and the Renault Mégane share the same underpinnings. What if we took a regular Logan, and all the good bits from the Mégane RS and mash them together ?
Ultimate sleeper, that's what would happen !

Oh yeah..
This is possible with so many cars too.

Oh, and you can do the same thing with a Renault Scénic => a kind of heir to the crazy Espace F1.

My car shares it's chassis with the fiat 500.
I really would love to get the abarth running gear and suspension in my car. Would be one hell of a sleeper, no one would expect it.

Odd.
The 1st gen Logan shared the platform with the Clio, which is a level down from Megane.
I can't find any relation of 2nd gen Logan with the Megane, got a source? :)

More like 3rd gen Clio underpinnings.

That's what I thought too. And I checked on the internet, and found sources saying the Logan II was based on the Mégane chassis (according to the French wikipedia) or the Renaut Fluence chassis (various sources, don't remember though).
And I just re-checked, wikipedia.com says it is based on the Clio platform.... I'm confused...

Me too, I'd probably buy one if they make it.

Nissan/Renault B platform (Clio II) -> stretch to Dacia B0 platform (Logan I) -> derive to Dacia M0 (Logan II)
Sorry, no Megane. Not to be a party pooper, but my girlfriend's grandma has her Logan I parked in the front yard, so I figured what the heck, let's learn something. :)
She says the build quality is so-so. The steering wheel shakes during highway cruising. Above 140kph. Speed limit is 130kph at best around here. She hauls ass. Lovely old gal. :)

Thanks for doing the research :)
The build quality may not be top notch, but for the price, you can't complain.

That was a bit of a joke, to be honest. An 80 year old lady has no business driving over the limit on the highway.
Anyway, took the Logan for a drive today, once you get used to the loooong clutch travel it ain't that bad. It's very honest about what it is and I can respect that in a vehicle. Compared to a contemporary Hyundai or other budget marques, why bother with the amenities if all you need is to move some lifeforms in a weather proof enviroment? :) The extra stuff just increases weight, price and issues down the line. I'm off to browse our local cad ads for a Logan, I am. :)
